This is a spun slub yarn made from domesticated silk. The slub shape allows air to be trapped in the loosely twisted parts, creating gaps in the knit fabric and resulting in a lighter finished product. The colours are achromatic and neutral tones of red, reddish-purple, and blue-purple, creating an elegant color range.

(Domesticated silkworms are fed only mulberry leaves, which gives the cocoon silk a consistent mouth shape, which in turn makes the cocoon fibers of uniform thickness. Therefore, if the yarn were made into a straight yarn, the fibers would become denser, making it heavier and resulting in the yarn losing its shape. Therefore, this yarn is made into a slub shape with varying thickness.

While wild silk is generally more suitable for knitting because it prevents the yarn from losing its shape, Silk Relief was intentionally made with stable domesticated silk to make it lighter.
